Overall movies feels more "Cinematic" and immersive for atmos or non-atmos track due to its conversion of non-atmos to atmos. And K950 is just perfect for movies having Truehd, Atmos support. For Weirdly some 5.1 n non 5.1 sources, Rears does not sound loud enough Compared to boss this soundbar provides vertical surround for atmos.I found surround is slightly less noticeable than boss.

Music is decent but I prefer boss as its much more pleasing, but for movies k950 is superior choice. Superior sound and overall well balanced and feels more "natural" It significantly sounds better when u plug in good lossless tracks. Conjuring 2 scared the sh** out of me in 360 degree sound space Very/Seriously Bassy if ur using subwoofer I did not have this setup so I got right soundstage louder than left. It needs to have equal distance between left and right wall for proper soundstage. No support for Truehd or DTShd is a bummer Its colorful sound, not sure audiophile will like it. Really great impressive soundstage its clearer n wider. I did got a chance to try samsung k950 and ST 300 (with subwoofer) each for 1 week.

The ML works on the open source Play-FI system and it was a cool experience however they don't have anything that can compete with the Bose as of right now.īose Soundtouch 300 complete system is legit. I've never been too keen on Bose but about the only thing I can say I don't like about this system is the idea of being locked into the Bose Soundtouch family moving forward when I want to add more WIFI speakers. Thru Bose app I connect to 2nd living room and go Play Everywhere. Now when I had the party, after showing off the Bose v ML it was time to get rocking. Just so everyone knows you can also purchase the Bose Soundtouch Wifi link (which I did) and this plugs into the optical of my AVR which is now in the second living room. I think the ADAPTIQ had a big impact in my case. Cannot simulate it like having the surrounds. Again its not the SVS SB2000 but this Bose can do whatever you ask. I kept thinking well lets see the Bose keep up on this one. The ML could go a little lower (songs like Future - Low Life).

Had my boys over for a football party and every single person was like "you kidding me? Bose no question" Demoed these two against each other for the last 2 weeks. Picked up the entire Soundtouch System from Bose and also bought the Martin Logan Vision X with Martin Logan Dynamo 700w wireless sub from Crutchfield.

Did some research and decided maybe the wifi soundbar route could work best for the main living room and for the second living room I could keep the PSB system together because TV has a stand it sits on.

Not enough space under the TV for my current system (Full AVR 5.1 yamaha + PSB Image Series - T5 Towers, C5 Center, B4 surrounds, SVS SB2000 sub). Main living room is off the kitchen and has fireplace where the 60" is mounted above the fireplace. New home has two separate living rooms so was in a dilemma. Just some quick hitters for you guys who want it. I think I'm going to try the Bose sound bar and get the surrounds with it first and then if the surround is good, I will get the sub. If Bose gives me a convincing sound field with rich, discreet sounding channels, virtual or otherwise, then I'm happy. Just a theory.Īs to the codecs, it is a bummer, but like phones, specs are one thing, experience is another. If the noise is related to the power, that may be the crucial difference.

It's not as pretty as having it hidden in the speaker housing, but the Bose surrounds are also smaller housings I think. One difference between the Samsung and Bose surrounds is that the samsungs power transformer is inside the speaker assembly while Bose put there transformer in line outside the assembly, similar to a laptop power supply. Since the speakers connected to the bar as soon as everything was on, before I connected the bar to my wifi network, not sure about that. I've heard it was due to wire noise from the power supply and I also heard it may be due to carrying the source sound over wifi with other devices. It seemed to be source specific and was the state of them unless they were being truly used by the source.
